hi all .I am using ECS 2100AX 20 Mhz oscilltor with pic16f874a.But the oscillator is not working properly. when i have measured its oscillation frequency ,it is showing few of khz. Any idea how to geyt rid of this problem.
bdw . I have connected output pin of oscillator with osc1 of pic microcontroller and left the osc2 pin. I have used config -hs mode in my program. as it is a 4 pin oscillator i havnt used any capacitors across it.

I assume you are "debalina" on the Microchip forum, asking the question here:
http://www.microchip.com/forums/m809558.aspxIt is the same people who would answer you here as are answering you there.
It appears to us that your oscillator is not working. This is nothing to do with the PIC.
Latest test project, an LED matrix display made from one reel of addressable LEDs.

How about just separate the oscillator from the PIC and then see what the oscillator's output looks like. Does it produce a 20MHz output then?
NCR once refused to hire me because I was too short. I'm still waiting on my growth spurt.

It appears the oscillator problem is already solved.
