I've shut down Firefox for other reasons today and now checked what is going on at Microchip.
I can log in (at least I am showing as automatically logged on) but there is no edit box in the quick reply section...
I guess they goofed again?

It looks like microchip have code in place to prevent proxy logins.
The verification text changes and the proxy misses it.
The social/google login is a microchip/apg script. edit microsoft -> microchip

Code: Select all

And he was trying to pop up this message:

I wondered if this was something to do with the image/links in my avatar and signature, which is why I created a new user with nothing in there and he can not get the edit box up either.

Same here. The Java console shows me this:

Interesting discovery!
I as just able to post a reply here: http://www.microchip.com/forums/FindPost/822753
by switching to the "mobile" theme.

Seems to confirm it's some problem with that buggy MCE editor.

And how did you switch theme?
In my page I cannot find any such setting, but I might have forgotten how to do it...
Still no edit box available.

Found a setting in the Menu drop-down (top right) but what it did was to send me to my "Public profile" rather than switch theme.....
