Microchip forums read only 2023-MAR-07

Postby dan1138 » Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:12 pm

I know that anyone that can find Ric's forum will know this but for anyone that just turns up here:
The Microchip Forums will be migrating to a new platform during the week of March 6-10, 2023.

In order for us to migrate the forum data to the new platform, the current forum will be placed into a read-only mode on Tuesday, March 7.

Users will be able to read and search forum posts, but not contribute to new or existing forum posts during this time.

New user registrations will also not be accepted in this forum platform after March 7.

The new forum platform will become available on Friday, March 10.

I hope that anyone looking for help will try this forum.

I'm surprised how LITTLE activity there has been here since the MC forums went read-only. I thought there might have been some more general chat about it.
FYI, I do know a few of the senior members were asked in March 2022 about what features we would like to see in a forum replacement, but there has been no feedback since then, and certainly no offer to test drive whatever it is they are hoping to release on Friday night.
I will be very disappointed if they continue to have problems due to firewalls on their web server, which don't get involved when Microchip employees access the forum through their company network.

It looks like Microchip staff can still post, and some of them didn't get the memo about the forum being transferred.

I looked at the forum topic you linked. It took Sanjeev a week to get back to the OP to say that Microchip may update the documentation to say what the OP needs is not actually available.

Lucky for Sanjeev that it is impossible for the OP to respond to his post! ;-)

Instructions for logging in to the new forum are at:

However I found the "Scenario 3" instructions to be rubbish. You have to use the "Forgot password" linkto generate a new password.

Trying with the company account..
WTF that works.

Logout, Delete cookies. Login again.
Login page has changed???
And became much more responsive.
But still can't login with my personal email.. blank page for 30 seconds, then microchip logo, then blank page for 30 seconds, ....
