Oh - I see what you mean!!!
For the RPi I mainly use C with a little Python (which I'm trying to learn). However the size of the coding I'm doing at this stage, I'm generally using a text editor and calling the compiler from the command line. (You can tell I first learned coding on Burroughs and IBM mainframes and then PDPs.)
So I'm not much help to you there I'm afraid.
