It would always show up on the home page ?

There is only something like "top rated posts" (not threads ...)

Quite true, my error.
It looks like it only takes a few to rate a post high to make the list.

Quite true, but I wonder if a thread titled "test post..." might be destined for deletion by the original poster.

I am a newbe and have not been able to post in the last 2 weeks. :( I see that others have been able to post. I have logged out and back in, but no help.

The only way to post right now is to use the "mobile" theme, as discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=146

I just noticed something odd: This thread has almost 12,000 views in 5 days. It doesn't seem like a particularly compelling topic, especially compared to the "Problem posting in any forum" topic which only has 1,600 views.

It looks like starting about an hour ago Guest logged in and read all the posts ?
Edit: is still reading all the posts.
Maybe that one particular post was a test before crawling the forum ?

I wonder if all this traffic is from http://welcome1981.rssing.com/chan-26000912/all_p1.html
They seem to display links to many of the posts on the Microchip Forums.
