The Microchip forum was and perhaps still is under attack from Korean language spam posts.

Access to the forum has been intermittent since Wednesday and seem unavailable today, March 30, 2015.

Perhaps the administrators have taken the forum down for maintenance. So I'm an optimist. :)

Perhaps the administrators have taken the forum down for maintenance.

I would guess so, since it's not in the spammers' interest to bring the site down.

It's up but it's got more Korean spam than a mega-mart in Seoul.

It seems there are one or two moderators coming in now and then and deleting all the spam, but they seem helpless to stop the spammers from registering or posting more of it.

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a proposal to improve the issues related to the Microchip forum. Based on the feedback I see here the biggest issue appears to the the forum software that is being used. An upgrade to better software (such as vBulletin) would solve the majority of the issues that users are having. Would you all agree with this assessment? If not, please help educate me as to why as I would like to help resolve these issues. If you have any other top level actions that you would like to share please do so. Thanks!

I think this was discussed and suggested on the Microchip forum for several days (at least) after the last "upgrade". Their didn't seem to be any interest in the forum members opinions at that time.

Yes, I noticed that. I am hopeful that there will be a different result this time around.

Are there other IC company sponsored forums that are well done and good examples to reference?
