Posted: Wed May 28, 2014 5:45 pmBeing a dial-up modem user, you have my vote for no heavy downloads. I think just having one banner ad can more than pay for a site.
Some other topics I'd like to bring up:
1.) Don't be restricted to trying to be a mirror image of the microchip forum. Maybe their layout is not the best.
2.) Most all of us are "answer people", and are not used to starting threads. There will not be "question people" for some time until we build up enough to have search engines find us and build up more users.
3.) Everybody should contribute some thread every now and then. Doesn't have to be long and complex, just to enough to be informative and keep the activity going. What can people contribute? I was thinking of drawing up some more schematics about electrical interfacing.

1) Boot loader functionality (based on AN 1157)
2) I2C interfacing on PIC24FJxxx, bit-banging vs. using the I2C subsystem, hardware needed on the pins (pull ups in particular)
3) Read/Write SD-card (MDDFS vs. FatFS), discussions about performance in high throughput situations have been recently ongoing.
4) Radio communications, MiWi etc
5) PIC24 OC and IC systems with dedicated timers (16 and 32 bit), problems getting it to work properly
6) USART communications using circular buffers and interrupts
etc etc...

I was thinking that if there were a lot of sticky threads that contained good information in these forums, then you could occassionally tell people "Oh, that's a common question and the answer is over there [link to other site]."
