I have not worked with the 868 radio, which is a development kit, but I have worked with the SI Labs SI4420, SI4320 and SI4420 line of ISM-band FM chips which interface with a microcontroller via SPI. Is that the sort of thing you are asking about? Or do you need to know specifically about the development kit?
